ALL our birds (layers and meat chickens) have access to BOTH the indoors (open sided barns for relief from the elements) and outdoors (attached pasture!) as part of our commitment to their comfort and welfare, and that we have sought wisdom and certifications to ensure they’re looked after and handled as thoughtfully and humanely as possible.
Indoors: For shelter and comfort (relief from freezing or scorching temperatures), and entertainment (they're provided with little "enrichments" on which to be chickens—like places to hide and jump on and whatnot—hay bales, balance beams, etc.). They love a nice dust bath, too. :) Also indoors is their vegetarian, non-GMO chicken chow and clean, fresh water, naturally.
Outdoors: And of COURSE they also have lots of outdoor pasture space too, which they love for the fun and delicious foraging opportunities they find in and among the grass and forbs, including the insects they enjoy. The cover/security (from predators) and entertainment the shrubs provide (limbs to jump on, etc.). The pasture space is also designed to suit their natural bird instincts and we love that for them!
We are proud to share that we have several certifications related to animal welfare, including from the Global Animal Partnership. And that our discerning customers (like Whole Foods, for instance), have appreciated that our practices align nicely with their stringent requirements concerning the way they're raised, fed, and handled.

How lovely of you to ask! Campo Lindo Farms is the Home of the Egg Note!
The Campo Lindo "Egg Notes" are something Carol and Jay began doing when they were at the help and it's just about the most wholesome, adorable tradition in all the land, so we're honored to keep it going!
They're just a little update from our (previously the Maddick) family each week on a teeny slip of paper tucked carefully into every carton. Content ranges from what our family is up to, to how the birds are doing, to how the other critters and pastures are faring, to just seasonal well-wishes and whatnot.
Nothing earth-shattering, but considering how much we believe in relationships being an important piece of the local food puzzle, it's a step in a direction we believe matters, and we know that's why Carol and Jay began them years ago.
Grab a carton to keep up with our family and farms (and enjoy some of the finest eggs in the land too).

First off, because they're delicious! EXTRA delicious. That's the most frequent feedback we receive, we're proud to say!
They're also beautiful and rich in nutrition. For instance...
They're also local, which means....
And they're manufactured one-a-day by the happiest little hens in the business, because we genuinely care about their quality of life and welfare.

Have a look at our find our stuff page! We try to see that it's updated every few months as we add folks, and they're a great bunch, so do please support them (and us!).
Of course, feel free to mention us to your favorite retailer or restaurant in either the Kansas City or St. Louis areas. Those are the communities we're serving these days and we'll be adding more as the years go by, so check back and feel free to spread the word!
And thank you(!!!) for doing your part to support local food! :D

These days, it's us: Matt and Eleanor Tiefenbrun, as well as a couple of other local farmers who help raise all these delicious products the way we believe they ought to be raised and the same way Carol and Jay Maddick did before they invited us to carry the torch.
We also have a friendly delivery fella, named Darren, who you may see smiling from the driver's seat of our big box truck or while pushing a dolly at your favorite restaurant or retail location.
We also now have Logan and Madison, some of our favorite people in all the land who joined the team in the summer of 2025 to lend their clever minds to our operational and logistic endeavors.
As we mentioned, if you've been a customer very long, you may remember hearing from the lovely Maddicks from before 2025 (Looking at you, Egg Notes!). They started things way back in 1996 and are just some of the loveliest people in the land, so we're super proud to be looking after things and continuing to provide great products to the communities they cultivated and into more communities as we continue Campo Lindo's growth. Feel free to read more about both our families on our STORY page, and follow us on Facebook and/or Instagram for the latest and greatest. :)

If you've been a customer very long, you may remember hearing from the Maddicks from before 2025 (Likely through their fabulous Egg Notes, a tradition we love and are continuing!).
Carol and Jay started things as a young couple/family way back in 1996 and are just some of the loveliest people in the land, so we're super proud to be looking after things and continuing to provide great products to the communities they cultivated and into more communities as we continue Campo Lindo Farm's growth.
These days they're traveling to see kids/grandkids, nuzzling grandbabies, and—ahem—still providing wisdom and guidance to us as we grow into our roles. Feel free to read more about both our families on our STORY page, and follow us on Facebook and/or Instagram for the latest and greatest. :) These days, it's mostly us, though—Matt and Eleanor Tiefenbrun, as well as a couple of other local farmers who help raise all these delicious products the way we believe they ought to be raised and the same way Carol and Jay did before they invited us to carry the torch.
